SaskTel has contributed over $2.5-million to non-profits, charities, community associations, venues, events and partnerships in the last fiscal year.

That’s according to the Crown Corporation’s Environmental, Social and Governance Report released earlier this month.

The report highlights that about 7,500 lightbulbs are diverted annually from the landfill from SaskTel facilities through recycling and through the Phones for a Start Program which began in 2009, 124,813 cell phones have been recycled.

The report also says SaskTel was recognized for its environmental efforts, being named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers.
