Transwest Air is reporting that due to the outstanding actions of a flight crew, one of their planes was able to perform an emergency landing on Saturday.
Transwest air says its dispatch received a call that afternoon from the crew of flight C-GKHI regarding an in-flight reportable aviation incident. It was a MEDEVAC flight, headed from Stony Rapids to Saskatoon, with two crew members, a patient and two emergency services personnel.
Emergency response protocols were initiated which ultimately lead to the safe landing of the aircraft, in Prince Albert, shortly after the call went out.
Transwest air say all on board were reported to be fine with no injuries. All passengers were safely evacuated after taxiing up to the terminal. The patient that was on board was transferred by Parkland Ambulance Paramedics to local hospital where they have been admitted for further care.
