The Kindersley Fire Department says it was dispatched just before 11 o’clock last night (thurs) to a grain elevator fire at Marengo. Kindersley, Eatonia, Kerrobert, and Oyen Fire Departments were all reported to be on the scene. The Kindersley department was asking on their Facebook page that people stay out of the area and that, at the time, evacuations were under way. The village says the evacuation was of the entire village and the surrounding area in the Rural Municipality of Milton No. 292. A local state of emergency has been declared. As of eight o’clock this morning, crews were still on the scene and were expecting to be there for several hours yet.
