At one time, live auction sales were very common in rural Saskatchewan, as both a means of commerce and a way to socialize with neighbors and farmers in other communities.
The vast majority of auction sales are now done online—but Steffes Group Auctioneers will hold its first live auction in Saskatchewan next Tuesday, November 3rd in Tisdale.
The agriculture auction for multiple sellers will be a milestone for the Tisdale-based team that operated as Bruce Schapansky Auctioneers, prior to joining Steffes Group in October 2024.  Next Tuesday’s live sale will have farm machinery, campers, cars, trucks, ATV’s, as well as lawn and garden equipment.

Schapansky hopes to see more live auctions in the future.

He reminisces about the time when live auctions were a common occurance.
