The Saskatoon Fire Department says a fire at a two storey home in the city’s Caswell Hill neighbourhood is suspicious.

Crews were called out at 4:40 a.m. and first arriving firefighters reported a home fully involved in flames.

The house fire in the 300 block of Avenue E North was brought under control within 48 minutes and while an occupant of the home managed to get out safely, a dog is unaccounted for.

Fire officials say the blaze originated in the front porch of the single-family dwelling unit. Damage is estimated at $250,000.
