A two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Highway #39 and Highway #710 has taken the life of an 86-year-old.
Just before 10am on Friday, Milestone RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision.
Through investigation, it was determined that a semi and SUV collided. The driver and sole occupant of the SUV was declared as deceased by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as an 86-year-old woman from Milestone. Her family has been notified.
The driver and sole occupant of the semi was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.
Highway #39 was temporarily closed but has since been reopened.
Milestone RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
As of 2 pm Friday, Saskatchewan RCMP reports there have been 73 fatal collisions with 88 fatalities on roadways policed by the Saskatchewan RCMP in 2026.
