So, the streak will continue after all!
The Saskatoon Hilltops will continue their run of consecutive years hosting a Prairie Football Conference semi-final game that dates back to 1990. Initially, following Sunday’s regular-season-ending 27-11 loss to Winnipeg at S-M-F Field, the Toppers were believed to be heading to Edmonton this coming Sunday to face the Wildcats after both teams finished with 4-4 records – tied for second place – with Edmonton holding the tie-breaker by virtue of out-scoring Saskatoon 41-39 in the two meetings they split. However, Calgary’s surprising, come-from-behind 46-30 victory in Regina Sunday pulled the Colts into the mix at 4-4. The now second-seeded Hilltops will be home to the third-seeded Wildcats at S-M-F Field on Sunday at 1 o’clock while Regina will host Calgary for a second consecutive weekend in the other semi.
