Lloydminster RCMP and Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit say thanks to the numerous tips that came in, Randy Lysohirka has been located and arrested without incident.
In a news release Sgt. Thomas Weiers of the RCMP Major Crimes Unit said, “It is thanks to witnesses at the scene as well as tips from the public that we were able to identify, locate and arrest the suspect”.
A warrant had been issued for the 40-year-old suspect wanted in connection with a fatal daytime shooting earlier this week in Lloydminster.
Twenty-two-year-old Lloydminster resident Nolan Whitstone was declared deceased at the scene after officers responded to a shooting on 50th Avenue Monday morning.
Randy Lysohirka is charged with second-degree murder. He is being held and will appear before a justice of the peace, with a future court date to be determined.
