“C”limpke Named 65th Captain in Blades Franchise History

Montreal Canadiens’ draft pick and third-year defenceman Brayden Klimpke (pictured) has been named the 65th captain in Saskatoon Blades’ franchise history.

The soon-to-be 19-year-old Calgary product was the Habs’ fourth round selection in the most recent N-H-L Draft back in late June. The alternates are 20-year-old winger Hunter Laing, fifth round Toronto draft pick and centre Cooper Williams along with forward and Martensville native Kazden Mathies.

The Bridge City Bunch start a home-and-home series with the arch-rival Raiders Friday night in Prince Albert. The return match-up is Saturday at SaskTel Centre – which will be the Blue and Gold’s home opener. Both games will be aired on CJWW, beginning with pre-game chatter at 6:45 and play-by-play at 7 o’clock.
