The provincial NDP held a news conference on the first day of school Wednesday in an open field in the Brighton neighborhood—the location of a school the NDP says was promised in 2024.
The Shadow Minister for Education, Matt Love says school divisions across the province are struggling to understand how decisions are made about which schools receive upgrades, renovations, new portables or other critical infrastructure investments.
The NDP recently requested information through the Freedom of Information process regarding criteria for school capital investments. Love says there were 160 blank pages.
