The City of Saskatoon’s rain barrel rebate initiative is closing for the 2026 season in just over a week.
Applications must be submitted by midnight on August 31 to be processed.
The City says rain barrels help capture and reuse rainwater for yard and garden which reduces outdoor water use and helps conserve treated drinking water.
Through the program, eligible residents can receive a rebate of up to $40, while participants in the Leisure Access Program or Access Transit Program may qualify for a rebate of up to $100.
To apply, you’ll need proof of purchase for a rain barrel bought in 2026 from a licensed retailer, or receipts and photos if you built your own rain barrel. Schools, community gardens, and businesses are also eligible.
