It’s my Parting Shot for T-F-P’s Week 11 C-F-L picks…..
My season record percentage of correct predictions is making like Telemiracle funds – going up!! With the exception of missing Calgary losing in Toronto in the Argonauts’ first real home game, I was good on the other three games last week, upping the season record to 22 right and 16 wrong – a 57.9 per cent proficiency. The drive to get to 60 per cent continues this week…
…and starts tonight with B-C at Calgary. These were supposed to be two teams that would take a shot at being top dog in the C-F-L West going into this season, yet both are below .500 as we get closer to the mid-way point of the regular-season. I tend to agree with former C-F-L linebacker, now T-S-N analyst, Henoc Muamba when he says this will be an offensive shootout and the Stampeders will win, despite allowing more than 30 points – again! It’ll be close, though – Stamps by less than a field goal!
Tomorrow night, it’ll be winless Ottawa at Winnipeg. The Bombers faithful are worried about their team, but they are getting Zach Collaros back at quarterback, which should help them! Question is, does having a bye week help the Big Blue? Here’s my upset special for the week as the RedBlacks finally get off the schneid and win by more than a field goal in the Manitoba capital!
Saturday’s first game is Toronto at Edmonton. The Argos have won their last two games and look good on offence with Chad Kelly back in 2023 form. The Elks have lost their last two and are sliding. This result will make the recent trends for both teams into real streaks as Toronto prevails by more than a touchdown!
Lastly, on Saturday, it’s Saskatchewan at Hamilton. The injury-plagued Roughriders just keep on keeping on with their next man up philosophy and surprisingly solid depth. The Tiger Cats have used four different starting quarterbacks in the last several weeks and are really missing Bo Levi Mitchell. Harrison Frost is the guy under centre for the Tabbies this week – but, he’s up against the league’s best defence, believe it or not, with the Green and White. I’ve got the Riders winning by more than 10 points!
If I get all four right, I’m almost at 62 correct predictions! Let’s go!!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again!
