The Saskatchewan RCMP say in 2025 its frontline officers and specialized units arrested 378 people who were charged with 543 drug trafficking related offences.

In a news release Staff Sergeant Éric Desfossés, north region manager of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Teams (SERT) said, “Combining frontline policing with specialized enforcement is a coordinated effort that disrupts drug trafficking networks and protects vulnerable populations.”

Pointing to a bust in Pelican Narrows on New Years Eve where a search warrant was executed and more than a kilogram of methamphetamine was seized from a home, the RCMP says their officers work hard to keep dangerous drugs out of the communities they work in.

The RCMP also notes that while Traffic Services officers patrol for unsafe driving behavior they are also pivotal to disrupting the transport of illegal goods through and into the province such as when a Roving Traffic Unit officer stopped a vehicle near Kindersley last October and with help of police dog Salt, 19 kilograms of cocaine and one kilogram of methamphetamine were located hidden in the vehicle.

Last year, RCMP efforts led to the seizure of approximately 60 kilograms of methamphetamine, 14 kilograms of cocaine, 357 grams of fentanyl, three kilograms of other drugs, 70 pharmaceutical-style tablets, and over 120 firearms.
