Evade Police
The Saskatoon Police Service says officers spotted a suspicious vehicle in the area of Avenue P North and 23rd Street West around 1:35 a.m. Sunday. They say the vehicle didn’t have lights on, was travelling below the speed limit and had significant damage to the front end. When police tried to pull it over, it sped off in the 200 block of Avenue M North, and they say continued to drive erratically in a residential area and did not heed any of the traffic control devices.
Police say the driver jumped out of the vehicle, while it still moving, in the area of 31st Street West and Avenue G North and ran away. The suspect was tracked down by the Canine Unit. A 26-year-old man has been charged with Dangerous Driving and Evading Police.
13-year-old Robbed of their Scooter
The Saskatoon Police Service have arrested three people in connection to a 13-year-old being robbed of their scooter. On Saturday around 8:00 p.m. officers responded to the 100 block of Primrose Drive in Lawson Heights after getting a report of the robbery. Officers located three people matching the suspects’ descriptions who police say had the scooter in question. The scooter was returned to the victim. An 18-year-old man, a 15-year-old girl and 17-year-old girl have all been charged with Robbery.
Multiple Stabbings
On Friday afternoon shortly after 4:30 police responded to a business in the 400 block of Confederation Drive after receiving a report that a woman had been stabbed. A 36-year-old woman was being treated by members of the Saskatoon Fire Department and was taken to hospital by paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not been able to determine the location of the stabbing and continue to investigate.
On Saturday around 12:25 a.m., police were patrolling in the 500 block of 20th Street West when they were flagged down by a woman who said she’d been stabbed. Police believe she was assaulted by two females in the 500 block of 20th Street West. A 29-year-old woman was taken to hospital for further medical treatment.
Saturday evening around 7:10 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Avenue W North to investigate a report of a woman who had been stabbed at an apartment building. Police arrived on scene shortly after and located a suspect who was arrested. The woman was transported to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The victim and suspect are known to each other. A 26-year-old man has been charged with Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats and Breaching Court-Imposed Conditions.
