The City of Saskatoon is delaying the opening of the Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre.
The centre has been closed since April 2023 and was originally expected to take around 18 to 24 months to complete. The centre was then set to reopen this fall but that’s now been delayed after issues were found during the inspection and testing of the pool. These issues mean the project can’t move on to pool tiling and finishing.
No reopening date has been announced yet, but the City is currently projecting a winter opening.
The work that is currently underway is part of a major renewal project that will modernize key systems, improve accessibility and help ensure the Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre can continue to serve the community. It’s anticipated that when the centre reopens it will serve a range of community needs.
