The Persephone Theatre has found a new Executive Director after the departure of there last one in May.
Alan Long will be taking over the role starting on August 24. Long isn’t unfamiliar with the arts, having worked at both Gordon Tootoosis Nikaniwin Theatre and Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan in art administration roles. Longs art experience doesn’t end there, having credits as both an actor and a musician. He has also worked in management roles at Wanuskewin and the YMCA of Saskatoon.
Alan Long began his career as a stage manager in 2001.
“I am excited for this opportunity to take on a leadership role at Saskatoon’s largest and beloved theatre company. In the last 25 years, I have had the privilege to work with so many great artists and arts administrators in what I know to be an incredibly talented and diverse theatre community.”
Experience in development and fundraising is also in Long’s wheelhouse, having helped fund raise with SOTS, Wanuskewin, and the YMCA of Saskatoon. His fundraiser’s have helped to earn a collective $13 million so far.
