The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested two people after an assault with a machete took place on Thursday evening.

Police received a report at a business in the 2200 block of 22nd Street West. The assault took place while a security guard was escorting a group of people out. The security guard was cut with a machete. The suspects then fled the area.

Officers later found two people matching the suspect description between 20th Street West and Avenue Q South. Both were arrested without incident, and one had a machete on them.

As a result, a 13- and 14-year-old have been charged with assault- and weapons-related offences.
