The Prince Albert Police Service has commenced a death investigation after a two-month-old infant died.
On June 21st at 11:00 a.m. officers responded to a home in the 600 Block of 19th Street West to assist Parkland Ambulance after they were dispatched to treat an unconscious two-month-old baby girl.
Paramedics performed lifesaving efforts on the infant and transported her to the Victoria Hospital. She was then transferred to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon, in stable condition for further care on June 21st where she has remained.
On Tuesday, she died while in hospital.
The Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit, Forensic Identification Section and with assistance of Saskatoon Police Service Forensic Identification Section, along with the Coroner’s Office are investigating the death. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
