Four people are facing an assortment of charges relating to weapons and evading police following a Sunday afternoon incident in Saskatoon.
A Saskatoon Police Service news release says that officers patrolling in the area of 8th Street East and Ewart Avenue, just before 2:30 p.m. Monday observed a vehicle being driven erratically.
The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed when police attempted a traffic stop. It was determined shortly thereafter that the same vehicle had been reported multiple times earlier in the day for erratic driving.
The vehicle fled again when officers next spotted the vehicle at Idylwyld Drive and 29th Street and attempted another traffic stop.
It was at that point that a tire deflation device was successfully deployed, and the vehicle came to a stop in the 1300 block of Alexandra Avenue. The four occupants – two men, aged 18 and 19, and two women, aged 18 and 40 – were arrested. Police located and seized a sawed-off shotgun in a search of the vehicle.
