Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer deaths in Canada, and is expected to be number two within the next five years.
Kicking PancreAS is a clever name for an important fundraising event. Friends and family gather together and raise money for pancreatic cancer research and patient supports services. One of those service is a weekly national ZOOM call to allow those battling the disease an opportunity to connect with others who are on the same cancer journey.
Angela Kunz was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2022. Surgery and chemotherapy allowed Angela to have an approximately 18-month period of remission prior to cancer appearing her liver. Angela passed away last year. Her husband, Gene Serblowski is participating in the 5km walk/run on Saturday evening (June 6th) in Rotary Park.
Gene and Angela attended this event in Halifax in 2024 during Angela’s cancer remission period.
Kicking PancreAS will be begin at 7:30pm on Saturday, June 6th at Rotary Park. All of the registration information can be found at this link.
