Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit has charged a 25-year-old Turnor Lake man with manslaughter following the death of a 21-year-old woman.

RCMP say officers from Buffalo Narrows and La Loche responded to a home in Turnor Lake just before 3 a.m., after receiving a report of an injured female. Police say they found 21-year-old Shalayah Montgrand inside the residence and arrested a man outside the home. EMS later declared Montgrand deceased at the scene.

Following the investigation, 25-year-old Darian Montgrand was charged with one count of manslaughter. He is scheduled to appear in court by video in Meadow Lake Provincial Court tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock.
