As Canadians are starting to venture out to enjoy the warm weather, so are the black bears.
The Province is remining the public to take precautions and remain “Bear Aware” to help prevent conflicts with wildlife.
A release from the government says black bears are usually associated with northern forested areas, but they can also be found in central and southern regions; including the aspen parkland, Touchwood Hills, Qu’Appelle Valley and the South Saskatchewan River Valley.
Some bear-aware tips include securing your garbage in a building or bear-resistant containers, storing pet food indoors, avoid placing strong-smelling food waste in your compost pile, and cleaning your barbecues thoroughly after use.
