Flooding
Spring runoff continues to create challenges for travellers across east-central Saskatchewan, as warmer temperatures accelerate snowmelt and increase water flow through local drainage systems after two days of double-digit temperatures significantly reduced the snowpack, leading to higher-than-normal runoff and widespread flooding concerns.
On Saturday, the RM of Lake Lenore declared a local state of emergency due to numerous road closures. One major closure includes Grid Road 777 between Lake Lenore and Spalding.

High water levels and culvert restrictions have also caused erosion along a stetch of Highway 5 roadbed at the junction with Highway 368. Officials are closely monitoring the situation just east of Muenster. Detour routes are in place should the highway become compromised.
