The Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT) in Lloydminster has charged a man wanted on warrant and seized a variety of drugs as well as a firearm.
On April 17th STRT officers were conducting patrols in Lloydminster when they spotted a man wanted on a warrant, outside of a motel on 44th Street. He fled on foot but was arrested a short time later.
Police say a small amount of meth and cocaine were found on his person which led to a search warrant that was executed at a room in the motel where offices seized approximately 28 grams of cocaine, 32 grams of methamphetamine, a gun with the serial number removed as well as ammunition.
Twenty-five-year-old Mackenzie Cannapotatoe from Onion Lake was in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday facing 17 new charges, many involving weapons and drugs and was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
