Environment Canada has issued a ‘yellow’ warning, meaning extreme cold for central and southern Saskatchewan, as well as northern Alberta.

A period of very cold wind chills is expected, which will end by Saturday afternoon.

Wind chill values near minus 40 will occur Friday night.

Environment Canada says dress warm, as frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.
