Saskatchewan RCMP have charged a third person in relation to a quadruple homicide that took place in February on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation.
RCMP originally arrested a 15-year-old youth and 18-year-old Darius Racette with the crime but indicated that the investigation was still ongoing. The pair faced four counts of first-degree murder.
In the latest development, police officers with Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a home on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation on Wednesday.
RCMP officers arrested a 17-year-old male youth at the home. They face the same four charges. Police cannot identify the youth as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and they are scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Thursday.
The four victims are 34-year-old Tracy Hotomani and 51-year-old Terry Jack, both from Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation, 44-year-old Sheldon Quewezance from Zagime Anishinabek, and 47-year-old Shauna Fay from Indian Head.
