The man who had his charges dropped following a collision on University Bridge has now had them reinstated.
On October 16th, a 37-year-old man was arrested after a major crash on the University Bridge. He was originally charged with dangerous driving, evading police and impaired driving. A vehicle had been speeding and moving erratically through traffic for more than half-an-hour prior to the collision which happened just before 9:30am. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries.
The day after the crash, police revoked the man’s charges, as he had been admitted to hospital under the Mental Health Services Act.
However, the most recent development indicates that at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, officers went to Royal University Hospital and charged the man again.
He now faces additional charges, including refusal to provide a blood sample, possession of a controlled substance, and breach of probation.
