Keira Miller had a jammed packed week attending a young agricultural journalists conference and then the main International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) conference in Nairobi.
CJWW Agriculture Director Neil Billinger spoke to Keira via Microsoft Teams from the Nairobi airport on Sunday night in Kenya, or early Sunday afternoon in Saskatchewan.
While looking forward to returning home, Keira is a little sad to leave Africa behind as well as the more than 160 people who attended the IFAJ conference. The ten young agricultural journalists are planning a group Zoom chat early next year to catch up on what each of them is doing—both in their careers and personal life.
Keira spent a full day touring a wildlife preserve, seeing everything from zebras to hippos. There were also stops at the elephant orphanage and the giraffe sanctuary where she was able to get close to and even touch both animals.
The interview with Keira is below and if you want to see photos of Keira’s adventures in Kenya, go to the Canadian Farm Writers Federation (CFWF) pages on Facebook and Instagram.
