Theft and bear spray discharged
The Saskatoon Police Service are investigating a bear spray and theft incident that took place Wednesday.
Shortly before 7:00 p.m. yesterday evening, police responded to a bear spray incident at a business in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue North, but the suspects had fled prior to officers arriving.
Police say a man and woman entered the store and stole merchandise before discharging bear spray and fleeing. The suspects have not been located but police are continuing to investigate.
Armed Robbery
The Saskatoon Police Service says officers responded to the 1500 block of Idylwyld Drive North around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of a robbery with a firearm.
Officers learned that a masked man entered the business with a firearm and demanded money; he then jumped over the front counter and took a till tray containing an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect fled the area, and a canine track did not produce any results. Police continue to investigate.
Arrest in connection to September stabbing
The Saskatoon Police Service says one man has been arrested in connection to a stabbing that took place in the evening on Saturday September 27th.
At 7 p.m. on that date police responded to an injured person call at a business in the 2200 block of 22nd Street west. A man had been stabbed somewhere in the area before going to the business to get help. The victim was sent to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Shortly after noon Wednesday police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 100 block of Primrose Drive where they located a man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for breach of his probation. The Saskatoon Police Service says further investigation by members of Patrol and the Serious Assault Unit determined that the man was also the suspect in a stabbing that occurred on September 27th.
A 21-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions.
