Numerous complaints regarding vehicles speeding and racing around Weyburn were made to the police last Thursday evening and patrol located speeding cars racing. Weyburn Police Service says the vehicles were clocked at over three times the speed limit within Weyburn. In addition they were travelling side by side when they were located.
Both drivers received tickets for travelling 50km/h over the speed limit and stunting, resulting in a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
Last week in Saskatoon the Saskatoon Police Service posted to social media that a food fight at a north end high school turned into a street race on Circle Drive where the drivers sped past an unmarked police car. Radar tracked them at 155 and 153 kilometres per hour.
The two 16-year-olds were caught at the Preston Avenue north exit and were issued 7-day license suspensions, 30-day vehicle impoundments, and tickets worth more than $1,500 each.
