Weather conditions at the start of the holiday weekend will be much different than the end.
Saturday will be a beautiful day with temperatures in the low-to-mid-20’s. A strong low pressure system will move into the province resulting in a 15-degree drop in temperature early Sunday. Along with the colder temperatures, there will be some precipitation.
“For the Saskatoon and Prince Albert areas, you may see a little bit of precipitation but the bulk will be south and east of that area,” said Danielle Desjardins, a meteorologist with Environment Canada. “You could see a bit of rain and maybe a flake or two or snow but it won’t be sticking around the Saskatoon/Prince Albert area.”
There will be more precipitation south and east of Saskatoon, mostly in the form of rain with forecast amounts between 20 and 40 millimetres Saturday evening through Sunday. Desjardins says there could be some snow accumulations at higher elevations and towards the Manitoba border.
