A 32-year-old man is facing charges following a report of a male with a weapon at an apartment Friday morning.

At approximately 7:40 a.m. police responded to a report of a male armed with a gun in the 200 block of Avenue R South.

Police say officers were able to remove a 28-year-old female victim from the apartment before making contact with the suspect and taking him into custody. Police say their Investigation determined the woman had been assaulted. The gun was found to be an imitation.

The woman suffered minor physical injuries.

The accused is facing charges including Assault With a Weapon and Unlawful Confinement.
