The monthly mean temperature was anywhere from 2.5 degrees to 4.3 degrees above normal with all centres in the top ten for warmest Septembers on record.
After a slow start with cooler than normal temperatures during the beginning of the month, the rest of September was unseasonably warm.

September was a very dry month for most centres, with the exception of Regina and Estevan. A series of slow-moving thunderstorms on the evening of September 12th contributed to nearly all of the precipitation totals.
