The RCMP say that with the assistance of INTERPOL, a Saskatchewan resident who was the subject of a Canada -wide warrant, was returned to Canada via extradition, to face outstanding sexual offence charges.
A warrant was issued for 69-year-old Earl Warren, formerly of the Saskatoon Detachment area, after he failed to appear in court in May 2023 and the investigation determined he had left the country. RCMP were able to determine he was living in London and earlier this month the UK’s High Court denied Warren’s appeal meaning officers could return him to Canada to face his outstanding charges.
Earl Warren arrived in Canada with RCMP officers on September 17th and police then executed his arrest warrant.
Earl Warren was arrested on October 5, 2020, in relation to historical sexual offences after Saskatoon RCMP investigated a report received on December 9, 2019. He is charged with three counts of sexual assault, and four counts of invitation to sexual touching of a minor in connection to incidents which allegedly occurred between 2010 to 2017 in Saskatchewan.
Earl Warren is remanded in custody until his next appearance in the Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench via CCTV at 8:30 a.m. on October 24.
