Suggesting that a mail strike is the perfect time to switch to paperless, the City of Saskatoon says the mail has paused but City services have not.
Due to the Canada Post service disruption, customers may experience longer-than-usual wait times when contacting Customer Service Representatives by phone or in person at City Hall.
To ensure your payments are made on time, the City encourages residents to pay bills at their banking/financial institution, through online banking, in person at City Hall or drop off your cheque in the City’s secure night deposit outside the front of City Hall.
Some of the online services available include pet license purchasing and renewals, business license applications and renewals, parking ticket payment and leisure registration.
The City notes that if you sign up for ebill you will have access to your utility account history and your current consumption charges and receive email notification when your bill is ready.
Some 55,000 postal workers took to the picket line after Canada Post announced it was planning to end door-to-door mail delivery for almost all households within the next decade to try and stop bleeding red ink.
