The provincial NDP says more needs to be done to deal with the drug crisis in Saskatchewan.
This following confirmation by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health that cannabis samples collected at a Friendship Centre in Regina tested positive for fentanyl and benzodiazepines. The NDP Shadow Minister for Mental Health and Addictions, Betty Nippi-Albright says people could smoke what they think is cannabis and never wake up.
The Saskatchewan Corners Service reports 224 suspected and confirmed drug toxicity deaths in the first 244 days of this year.
Meantime, the provincial government says the NDP is attempting to smear the reputations of highly qualified and community-minded people who serve on the Saskatchewan Health Authority Board and senior leadership team. It points out that the individuals are not secret or hidden and their biographies can be found on the SHA website.
