It’s my Parting Shot for T-F-P’s best bets and tough to call games for Week 3 of the N-F-L season…..
I was right on all three of my slam-dunk picks last week – Baltimore, San Francisco and Buffalo all winning. However, I was only correct in saying that Green Bay would beat Washington in one of four games I wasn’t very confident in picking, but missed on the other three, hence I wasn’t very confident in them! In the end, I didn’t win the office pool – something I will likely say a lot more often than not!
Week 3 of the N-F-L season sees all 32 teams in action. Ten of them are unbeaten through two games while another 10 are winless. Two of the 10, 2-0 teams will not be undefeated after the weekend is done because there are two games with head-to-head meetings of unbeatens. There are four games in which 2-0 plays 0-2 – yet I would be leery of putting big money or points on the undefeated team, especially if the game is being played at the home field of the 0-2 team – as in the cases of Green Bay at Cleveland and Indianapolis at Tennessee!
My slam-dunk picks this week are Buffalo at home over Miami tonight, Seattle beating visiting New Orleans and Tampa Bay knocking off the Jets in Florida. Thee most over-rated quarterback and head coach in the N-F-L might both be with the Dolphins. Tua Tagovailoa shows flashes of living up to his college potential – but just flashes – while Mike McDaniel prowls the sidelines like his poop don’t smell, But, the Fins’ results do stink!! The Saints are just bad and will be hard-pressed to win a game this season and the Jets need their defence to score points as well as stifle the opponent’s offence – too tall of a task of the road!
The games I not certain of – Jacksonville winning at home over Houston in a battle of highly-touted young, but very inconsistent quarterbacks in Trevor Lawrence for the Jaguars and C-J Strout for the Texans; Washington, likely without Jayden Daniels at quarterback due to injury, over Las Vegas; and Philadelphia against a sneaky good, vsiting squad in the L-A Rams!
As for my 1-1 Minnesota Vikings, they may be the home team Sunday against Cincinnati, but I like the Bengals more in a battle of back-up quarterbacks with both teams’ starters injured!
We shall see!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again!
