The Saskatoon Police Service says officers responded to a school in the 100 block of Bowlt Crescent shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday morning after receiving a report of an attempted armed robbery and assault that had occurred minutes earlier nearby. The School Resource Officer learned that a 16-year-old male had been walking to school on a pathway behind Langevin Crescent when he was approached by two unknown males. The suspects demanded the victim’s property and produced a knife; a brief struggle ensued, and the victim received cuts to his head as a result.
The suspects fled empty handed. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The matter is still under investigation. There is a description of the suspects in our online story. Anyone with information or possible video evidence in the area of Bethlehem/Tommy Douglas High Schools is asked to contact police directly or report it anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
The suspects are described as being males of high school age; one with dark clothing and dark curly hair and the other with a red shirt and blond hair.
