Northwest College in North Battleford is celebrating 50 years of providing programming that ranges from adult basic education and English language training to university studies courses including bachelor’s degrees, certificates and diplomas in disciplines such as healthcare, business education and the trades.
Northwest College has campuses in North Battleford and Meadow Lake and with the 50th anniversary celebration, the college is also rebranding which includes a new logo. In a news release CEO Eli Ahlquist said, “Our branding should also represent an exciting future for each of our students and alumni.” To that end the college has been engaged in community consultation about branding.
Among those at the celebration Tuesday are MLA Jeremy Cockrill, Dr. Ahlqist and Board President Bill Voight.
While Northwest College operates two primary campuses, it also has 21 learning centres in the province’s northwest which is intended to provide students with the benefits of small class sizes and personalized instruction with the target of attaining employment.
Part of the branding update is to showcase new programs, renovated and newly constructed learning spaces like the health-care simulation labs, new programming at the Frontier Mall location in North Battleford and the goal of developing a new campus in the Battlefords.
