According to the Highway Hotline the RCMP are still on the scene of a serious collision on Highway #219, approximately 10 kilometres south of Saskatoon near Township Road 352.The highway was closed for a large part of Friday with a detour put in place.
Officers on scene reported heavy fog at the time of the accident. The Saskatoon Fire Department also responded to that accident saying the call came in at 7:24 a.m. And involved two vehicles. Hydraulic tools were used to remove part of the vehicle in order to get a patient out of a Grand Caravan. The injured person was transported to hospital by Medavie Health Services West.
A few short minutes after the news release was issued another advisory landed, this time it was a three-vehicle collision on Highway #35 approximately 18 kilometers south of Nipawin. Again, officers on scene reported reduced visibility, reduced to zero at times, due to heavy fog.
The Highway Hotline indicates Highway #35 now open.
Meanwhile, a listener texted Friday morning indicating there had been a collision on Valley Road in Saskatoon by the landfill (pictured).
