It’s my Parting Shot for The Fearless Predictor’s best bets and tough to call games for Week 2 of the N-F-L season…..
After several years without it, the Saskatoon Media Group has had the L-F-L return for the entertainment and amusement of staff members who want to try their luck at predicting the results of N-F-L games. Players are asked to pick all 16 winners and attach a unique point value, between 1 and 16, to each game. A “16” means you are most confident in that result happening while a “1” means you are the least confident in that selection. Come Tuesday, a winner will be declared by the person who has the most points from correct predictions and gets the whole pot. Entry fee for this is two bucks, so nobody is augmenting their incomes to the point of being able to retire!!
With that said, T-F-P’s top three slam dunk predictions are Baltimore at home over Cleveland, San Francisco winning in New Orleans and Buffalo winning at the New York Jets. The Ravens will be storming mad after letting the Bills come back late and win! I’m thinking I should’ve reduced the number on the 49ers. I think they’ll still beat the lowly Saints, but I’m not as confident with quarterback Brock Purdy and tight end George Kittle out of the lineup. And, the Jets’ defence is good, better than Baltimore’s, but I think Josh Allen and Buffalo have the wherewithal to overcome the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!!
T-F-P isn’t very confident when it comes to Green Bay beating Washington at home or Houston knocking off visiting Tampa Bay or Kansas City winning the Super Bowl 59 re-match at home over Philadelphia. I’m not certain that Jordan Love and the Packers are a better offence than the Jayden Daniels-led Commanders “O.” Baker Mayfield is so hard to read on a week-to-week basis under centre for the Buccaneers while I’m not convinced that either the Eagles or Chiefs has what it takes to win 10 games this season, let alone win a Super Bowl again!
There’s my guide – take ’em or leave ’em! As for my Minnesota Vikings, I have them winning their home opener Sunday night against Atlanta – but I’m not very confident, putting a “4” on my sheet! We’ll see!!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again!
