A pair of 18-year-old males have been arrested and charged with attempted robbery and using a firearm to commit robbery following a Tuesday morning incident in the Fairhaven neighbourhood of Saskatoon.
According to a Saskatoon Police Service news release, officers were called to a business in the 3330 block of Fairlight Drive at about 6:30 a.m. on September 9 for the report of an attempted armed robbery. Upon arrival, police were told two men produced a firearm, pointed it an employee and demanded money.
When the employee refused, police say the pair fled in a vehicle. The responding officers were able to locate the vehicle quickly in a nearby parking lot with the two men matching the suspect descriptions inside.
The men were arrested without incident, and an imitation firearm was found in the vehicle. Besides the attempted robbery and firearm charges, one of the men had outstanding warrants executed upon his arrest.
