Around 2:15 a.m. Friday Saskatoon police officers spotted a vehicle known to be involved in an earlier theft from a motor vehicle. When police tried to pull the vehicle over it began to evade at a high rate of speed.
Officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device, and the vehicle came to a stop in the 300 block of Circle Drive. Two suspects fled on foot, one into a nearby establishment and the other towards Cynthia Street. Both were arrested in short order.
A 48-year-old man has been charged with operating a motor vehicle being pursued by police, operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner, theft over $5000, and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions. A 33-year-old woman who had also been arrested was later released without charges.
