It’s my Parting Shot as The Fearless Predictor is back from holidays and takes a stab at predicting who will win Super Bowl 60…..
In looking at a myriad of different American sports media crystal ball-gazing, there is very little consensus as to who will be tops and who doesn’t stand a chance – hello New Orleans Saints for the latter dubious honour in my humble opinion!
The rest of my humble opinions is that your A-F-C division winners, by order of record, will be Buffalo in the East, Kansas City in the West, Baltimore in the North and Houston in the South. The wild-card teams, in order of record, will be Denver, Cincinnati and the L-A Chargers with. Missing out, in order, will be Pittsburgh, New England, Jacksonville, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, New York Jets, Miami, Tennessee and Cleveland.
The N-F-C division winners, by order of record, will be San Francisco in the West, Philadelphia in the East, Detroit in the North and Tampa Bay in the South. The wild-card teams, in order of record, will be Washington, the L-A Rams and Green Bay. Missing out, in order, will be Atlanta, Minnesota, Chicago, Arizona, Dallas, Seattle, Carolina, New York Giants and New Orleans.
In, both, the A-F-C and N-F-C, all three wild card teams will finish with better records than the respective South Division first place team who will, undeservedly in my humble opinion, have home-field advantage in the wild card round of the playoffs! There has to be more intra-division contests as a result – sorry for the mini rant!
Having said that, I’ve got Buffalo and San Francisco receiving the byes into their respective Conference semi-final rounds, but neither will make it to Santa Clara, California, home of the 49ers, for the championship contest, I fear! I also don’t think the Eagles will repeat as Super Bowl champs and that the Chiefs’ dynasty officially comes to an end with Travis Kelce sailing off into the sunset with Taylor Swift, without one last title ring!
Nope, I feel that, when the smoke finally clears in early February, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens will come through and knock off the Detroit Lions for the N-F-L’s big prize!
