Saskatoon police have arrested five people following an assault on Wednesday.
At 2:15 p.m., police were called to the 500 block of Avenue W South for a report of a weapon involved in an altercation.
Officers learned that a man had been sitting in a vehicle when he was approached by a woman who began banging on the door. The man got out of his vehicle and the two engaged in a verbal confrontation.
Four men between the ages of 26 and 40 then appeared, joining the woman’s side, and knocked the male victim to the ground. They then assaulted him before stealing his property and running in different directions.
Officers were able to locate and arrested all five, and a search of their persons found one bladed weapon and methamphetamine. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
