The City of Regina has announced that voluntary water conservation measures have been lifted
–Original Story–
Following a mechanical failure that occurred at the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant on Tuesday, the City of Regina is asking its residents to conserve water.
Examples of temporary measures the City is asking people and businesses to implement include refraining from watering lawns, avoid washing vehicles except when required, reduce shower time, and only run the washing machine and dishwasher when they are full.
The City assures that plant operations are gradually returning to normal levels, and these restrictions are expected to be lifted over the coming days.
To maintain service levels as much as possible, the City is utilizing its emergency water wells. These wells provide safe drinking water, but residents may notice some discoloration.
