While change was expected within the Saskatchewan Rattlers’ organizational structure following a third straight non-playoff year in the Canadian Elite Basketball League, the change wasn’t expected to be seen at the top of the ladder! However, the Rattlers’ ownership company announced Tuesday that team president Lee Genier is concluding his second term with the franchise.
Genier was with the Saskatchewan franchise in the C-E-B-L’s inaugural season in 2019 – a year in which the Rattlers won the league title at SaskTel Centre. He initially joined the Snakes in 2018 as the league started up and also served as the chief operating officer of western operations for the C-E-B-L during the 2019 season – overseeing the Saskatchewan, Edmonton and Fraser Valley (now Vancouver) franchises. He moved on after the 2020 season, but returned for his second tenure with the Rattlers on February 1, 2024. Genier also served as President of the Saskatchewan Rush of the National Lacrosse League when they moved to Saskatoon from Edmonton in 2016. Following is the news release from the Rattlers…..
