There will be an increased police presence in the 900 block of 2nd Street East in Prince Albert Friday as officers are investigating an aggravated assault.
At 10:45 p.m. Thursday, police responded to an assault in progress at an apartment in the area. An unknown male suspect left the scene prior to police arrival.
Upon arrival, officers located 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy both suffering from a stab wound. Both were taken to the Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance, and the girl was later taken to a hospital in Saskatoon for further treatment.
Officers were able to locate and arrest the 15-year-old male suspect who is known to the victims. The boy is being charged with one count of attempted murder on the 13-year-old girl and one count of aggravated assault on the 15-year-old boy. He has been remanded into custody over the long weekend and will make his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Tuesday, September 2nd.
