The City of Saskatoon recently declared tomorrow as “Green & White Day” in celebration of the 60th annual Labour Day Classic between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this Sunday.

The declaration also follows an announcement from last week that Saskatoon will host the Roughriders for a pre-season game in May 2026. This is a first for the city since the early 1990’s.

On Friday, a retro Roughriders Team flag will be raised at Civic Square and residents are encouraged to wear their Rider green and white throughout the day.

Mayor Cynthia Block said the celebration reflects how the Roughriders represent all of Saskatchewan, including Saskatoon.
