A public inquest into the death of Brandon Schafer-Kovacs is beginning Monday and running through Friday at the Travelodge in Saskatoon.

Schafer-Kovacs was fourteen-years-old living in a group home under the care of the Ministry of Social Services at the time of his death.

On November 25, 2022, he was transferred to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital where he passed away three days later.

The purpose of an inquest is to establish who died, when and where that person died and the medical cause and manner of death.

Coroner Blaine Beaven will preside at the inquest. The inquest is expected to begin at 10:00 am.
